However, Yellowstone is a active hot spot ..Like Hawaii is... Hawaii has a trail of islands which are now dead volcanoes...that were once over the hot spot...
Yellowstone is the same way its also a hot spot... and has been plowing into the mountains leaving behind a trail of dead calderas.. Like the Hawian islands behind it... For example, the Island Park caldera is a extinct caldera which is to the west of Yellowstone was formed ovre a million years ago.
Its like 50 miles across and i think 150 miles long...its too big to see from gound level...This can be seen from high altitude photos.
The current caldera in Yellowstone has blown 3 times in the last 2 million imho.... It's not going to solidfy into a pluton like half dome is in yosemite... in a million years or so...
its going to blow.... the animals who arn't dead are leaving...NOW They don't have PHd and can't read.
